1. Nomination papers must be delivered to the Returning Officer, Lynton House,
Commercial Road, Barnstaple, Devon, EX31 1DG on any day after the date of this notice
between the hours of 10am – 12pm and 1pm – 4pm but no later than 4 pm on Thursday,
7th May 2026. Please note Lynton House no longer has a reception so it is advisable to
ring 01271 388277 for an appointment, otherwise please ring the bell on the side door to
gain access.
2.Nomination papers may be obtained from the clerk to Ilfracombe Town Council or from
the offices of the Returning Officer, Lynton House, Commercial Road, Barnstaple, Devon,
EX31 1DG, during the times stated above. Please note Lynton House no longer has a
reception so it is advisable to ring 01271 388277 for an appointment, otherwise please ring
the bell on the side door to gain access.
3. If any election is contested the poll will take place on Thursday, 4th June 2026.
4. Applications to register to vote must reach the Electoral Registration Officer by 12
midnight on Monday, 18 May 2026 . Applications can be made online:

5. Applications, amendments or cancellations of postal votes and amendments or
cancellations of proxy votes must reach the Electoral Registration Officer at Lynton House,
Commercial Road, Barnstaple, Devon, EX31 1DG by 5 pm on Tuesday, 19th May 2026.

6. Applications for a Voter Authority Certificate (free voter ID, or an Anonymous Elector’s
Document valid for this election, must reach the at Lynton House, Commercial Road,
Barnstaple, Devon, EX31 1DG by 5 pm on Wednesday, 27th May 2026. Applications can
be made online: https://www.gov.uk/apply-for-photo-id-voter-authority-certificate
7. New applications to vote by proxy at this election must reach the Electoral Registration
Officer at Lynton House, Commercial Road, Barnstaple, Devon, EX31 1DG by 5 pm on
