The Gardening Angels did their first referral and made a massive difference for the people affected by this brambly mess!

North Devon Homes sent us a referral from a couple who had lost their natural light from over grown brambles from the Oak Tree Nursery next door. As a registered Charity, the Nursery have been finding it very difficult to keep on top of everything and have been struggling as much as the residents next door so the Gardening Angels decided it was time to give them all a bit of a helping hand!

Three volunteers went in to rip out the enormous brambles with help on the other side of the fence from the residents and their pooches. Both staff at the Nursery and next door residents were really happy with the result!

Huge thanks to Cllr Trevor Huggins for his time and hard work on Saturday and to Paul Maddocks Paving Solutions for stepping in with some power tools to make the job much easier and for also removing the green waste.

The Gardening Angels are an ITC Volunteer programme who are called into action through a referral process only with strict criteria via ITC. Applicants must prove they are unable to do their gardening themselves both physically and financially and the help provided is a one off event.
